Hi Donna.

We welcome the recent positive decision by the European Medicines Agency to recommend approval for a new 13-valent pneumococcal vaccine for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years of age.

On our blog, Medical Information Officer, Claire Knight, discusses why we need new pneumococcal vaccines and what this means for preventing pneumococcal meningitis in the UK.

    Student aware

With students being the second most at risk group from meningitis and septicaemia, we took the awareness message from Ayr to Aberdeen as we visited nine Scottish student Freshers' Fairs.

Central to our awareness raising was our new student posters, which gained a really positive reaction from students for their hard-hitting approach.

View the posters or order online and help us distribute them far and wide to raise awareness among this vital target community.
